Donor Privacy Policy & Our Commitment to Our Donors

 
  • This policy applies to all information received by Statement Arts, both online and offline as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications. As a donor submitting personally identifying information (“Personal Information”) to us or any of our staff, you consent to the terms and conditions of the policy and to our processing and use of Personal Information for the purposes stated below.

    Personal Information: “Personal Information” is information that identifies you personally. This includes, but is not limited to:

    · Contact information, such as name, address, email, and telephone number.

    · Donation related information, including types and amounts of donations credit card and other payment information.

    Types of Information Collected: We collect and store personal information:

    · Provided to Statement Arts through oral, written and/or electronic means such as email, social media posts or comments, and/or comments, questions or responses on the Statement Arts website;

    · When Statement Arts is contacted directly through any means.

    · Related to event attendance, program participation, and publications received;

    · Related to contributions, either on the Statement Arts website, at a special event, over the phone, mailing in a check, transferring funds online and/or through other means of payment; and

    · When navigating through the Statement Arts website.

    · Provided to Statement Arts via public comments or public posts on Statement Arts website or social media accounts. Please note that if donors directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data on any public listserves, message boards, social media posts or comments, this information may be collected and used by others.

    From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above. Non-personal information that does not personally identify you, including information that is anonymized, aggregated, or publicly available when not combined with non-publicly available information about you.

    Other Types of Information Collected: Information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, may also be collected including information automatically collected through technical methods such as:

    · Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser.     Security of Personal Information: Statement Arts uses reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to secure personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Statement Arts uses computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted from the Statements Arts website, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

    Statement Arts also uses third party service providers to process payments, donations and/or to perform services on its behalf such as Squarespace and Stripe. The privacy and security information are provided below:

    Squarespace: Squarespace collects personal data when you visit the Statement Arts wbsite, including: information about your browser, network and device; web pages you visited prior to coming to this website; and, your IP (Internet Protocol) address. Information collected by Squarespace may also include details about your use of this website, including: clicks, internal links, pages visited, scrolling patterns, searches and timestamps. This information is shared with Squarespace, our website analytics provider, to learn more about site traffic and activity. Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or piece of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or application.     Stripe: Statement Arts uses Stripe to safely complete online transactions (purchases and donations). Although we retain records of the sales transaction and/or donation for record-keeping purposes, Statement Arts does not collect, process or store your payment card details and other personally identifiable information (PII), such as date of birth, that may be necessary to process the financial transaction. That information is provided directly to the third-party payment processor whose use of your personal information is governed by their privacy policy.     Third Party Links: The Statement Arts website may contain links to third party sites on the Internet (“Third Party Sites”). Your use of all third party sites are at your own risk and it is your sole responsibility to evaluate the content and usefulness of the information obtained from third party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. If you are concerned about the privacy policy of a certain third party, you may contact them directly or visit their individual web site to learn more about their individual privacy policies.

    Use and Disclosure of Personal Information: You may opt out of having your Personal Information shared by us and following the process described in our general privacy policy.

    We will not send you mailings on behalf of other organizations.

    We will collect payment information, billing address and other

    information necessary to process a donation or event registration.

    We will use your information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of law or comply with legal process served on us.

    We will use the personal information to protect against potential fraud. We will not sell, share or trade our donors' names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. If you use a credit or debit card on the website, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.

    You have the right to review information that we have collected about you. To review that information please contact us in writing.
